About us

Frantom Chapel had its beginning in the home of its founder, William Tollive Frantom.  Frantom Chapel Methodist Church was officially organized in September 1886.  As the church grew, services were moved to Pleasant Springs School. Services were held once a month and the ministers would arrive on horseback the day before the services.  Dinner on the grounds was one of the social events that drew the community together.

The present sight was established in September 1901 and the present structure was erected the same year, thanks to Mr. Manoah Vaughn donating two acres of land.  The early 1900's was a great time for the church, then came the 50's and 60's.  Due to deaths and people moving away the church went into a decline.  The church closed it's doors in 1982 for nearly a decade and in November of 1991 was reopened.

Due to the growth of our community we are now starting plans to build a new church building on 1560 Flat Creek Rd. (PICTURED BELOW)

Our new Sanctuary wil seat around 170, which wil be twice the size of our old building and will give us enough room for sunday school classes.
